Company History

Andwood is a family company established by Andres Vaikre and his wife Ene Vaikre. As the former has studied wood technology and worked also in the field of cabinet making, the company has come to specialise in wood products.

Andwood was established in 1994 in partnership with the Swedish company Markslöjd AB to make wooden advent candleholders. In 2001-2008 we produced various furniture supplies for Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian companies (incl. Formfin Møbler, Kvaerner Masa-Yards, Isku Interior, Balzaw-Beskow, Neiser).

In the past ten years, Andwood OÜ has focused more on the development of our own brand products. The decision was clearly influenced also by the global recession in 2008 when the main production came to include first-class funeral supplies – cremation urns. It was during this period that Andres completed the first urn model Sofia soon followed by various other models – Somnus, Amfor, Vase, Mary, Boheme and Sanctus. Today the given models form an elegant and memorable urn collection.

Andwood aims at providing its customers with funeral supplies of the highest value thus enhancing the general quality of the service. The company’s vision is to become one of the best-known urn production and marketing companies in Scandinavia.
